15th March 2008, London. Friends of Lebanon members joined in with up to 40,000 people calling for an end to the war on terror. Although FOL supports and participates in many demonstrations (for instance for the End The Siege On Gaza Campaign) The World Against War demonstration represents the larger picture: a call for international peace through dialogue and cooperation, not through war and domination. It was the so-called “War on Terror” that launched the war on Lebanon in the Summer 2006. It continues to destroy lives and threaten any hope for stability in the Middle East. The UK should lead the way to peace, not war. |
